In accordance with the National Rural Health Association’s Quality Initiative, the Allegany / Western Steuben Rural Health Network, Inc. ( AWSRHN ) seeks to promote access to coordinated, high-quality care in our rural community.
Rural community-based healthcare delivery systems should cover the continuum of care, achieve optimal quality / performance standards, be financially viable, continuously improve performance and quality, and address population health measures.
AWSRHN has and will continue to successfully meet the challenges of rural health care by bringing the crucial elements and parties together to develop solutions that address the healthcare needs within our communities.
Dynamic Aging! The 6th Annual Aging Conference was held on May 27, 2010 Alfred State College Alfred, NY
New York’s older population is rapidly growing and by the year 2015 adults age sixty and over will make up 20-29% of the general population; 50% larger than the existing senior adult population. Across America, communities, service providers, governmental agencies and other entities are searching for new ways to design services, programs and neighborhoods to meet the needs and desires of our seniors.
Goals of this year’s conference were to:
- Address the need for a greater working knowledge of current aging resources, issues and trends;
- Advance public health practices, caregiver resources and professional knowledge;
- Develop new professional contacts that have the potential to collaborate on current or future projects, or assist with problem solving through formal and informal networking opportunities incorporated into the program;
- and Share program successes and challenges looking at evidence-based models that can be tailored to all communities
